2010 Mercedes B CLass

Wearing less camouflage than ever before, the prototype bares a strong resemble to the BlueZero concept which debuted at the 2009 North American International Auto Show. Notable features include a longer wheelbase, a GLK like grille, a panoramic glass sunroof, and a tailgate mounted spoiler.

When engineers decided to take a break from testing, they accidently forgot to close the doors. This enabled our spies to snap an interior picture, but unfortunately we only see the rear seatbacks and the front armrest. While the B Class won’t go on sale until 2011, a near production concept could be unveiled later this year.

2012 Mercedes ML Class AMG Spy

Spies in Germany caught several pics of the 2012 Mercedes Benz ML 63 AMG.  The car was seen during testing on the Nurburgring, really hitting the curves hard on what the spy describes as a soft suspension. If it gets the AMG Performance Package for the 5.5 liter biturbo V8 engine from the S63 AMG, it should pump out 563 hp (420 kW, 571 PS) and up to 900 Nm (664 lb ft) of torque. This engine would likely be mated to the automakers sevenspeed Speedshift MCT transmission.

Larger brake calipers and discs can be seen behind the testing wheels. The car is also fitted with a dual exhaust, with a tail pipe on either side of the vehicle, and vents on the hood. The low to the ground model should get its production debut in 2011 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Porsche 911 2012

With a market launch just around the corner, new details have emerged about the 2012 Porsche 911. As usual, the 911 will be an evolution of the previous model. Keen eyed observers will notice new lighting units, Panamera style side mirrors, and a revised rear wing. A closer look will reveal the car is longer and wider than the 997, but only slightly.

Inside, the cabin will to get a major upgrade thanks to styling elements from the Panamera and Cayenne. Our spies haven’t gotten close enough to snap pictures, but trust us, they’re trying. The car will continue to ride on a steel intensive platform, but several weight saving measures will allow the car to weigh 1370kg (3020 lbs) 45kg (99 lbs) less than today’s model. Porsche has also modified the engine mounting points for improved weight distribution and better handling.

Under the hood, the Carrera will be outfitted with a revised 3.6 liter engine that produces 365 hp (272 kW / 370 PS) and 295 lb ft (400 Nm) of torque. The mid level Carrera S will come with an updated 3.8 liter with 415 hp (309 kW / 421 PS) and 325 lb ft (440 Nm) of torque. Both will be mated to a six speed manual or an optional seven speed PDK.

To improve fuel efficiency, all 911s will come with an engine stop/start system and regenerative braking. These additions should allow the Carrera / Carrera S to consume 12% less fuel in city driving. While a 911 hybrid is expected, eventually, an Autocar source dashed rumors of an EV by saying We are investigating pure electric drive systems, but no decisions have been made on their production future.
