Mini Cooper S Facelift

minifacelift030310

New spy photos of the MINI Cooper S facelift were captured recently. The pictures, taken in Southern Germany, show some updates at both the front and rear. Some of the changes include a slightly modified air intake, with camo tape at points on the front bumper. In back, new rear lighting, similar to the current model, can be seen. The clusters appear to include LEDs. The photographer on the scene believes an entirely new rear bumper will also be used.

Many fans of the car will be looking to for changes to the vehicle’s interior. The interior has often been the subject of criticism for the use of somewhat cheap looking materials.

The facelifted MINI Cooper S could be released next year as a 2012 model year car. The second generation MINI Cooper was released for the 2007 model year, replacing the six-year old first generation.

nissannav260210

The Nissan Navara and Pathfinder have been given facelifts and we have the details. Nissan says the Navara has been Europe’s best-selling pickup since its launch. It wants to keep that going by making the car and its SUV sibling more attractive. Exterior changes include new front bumpers that give an extra 80mm to both vehicles, a new bonnet, a revised front grille, new headlamp styling and a different rear bumper. Also on offer are new 18-inch wheels to compliment existing ones.

The interior benefits from revised door trims, more tactile armrests and door pads, redesigned dials, the addition of chrome highlights and a new all-wheel-drive command control switch for the Pathfinder. Other nice items include the Nissan Connect Premium with a new high resolution touch screen, a 40GB hard drive and an optional Bose sound system.

Big news on the engine front is the new 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel developed in cooperation with partner Renault. It makes 170kW (231PS / 228 hp) and peak torque of 550Nm (406 lb-ft) from 1700rpm up to 2500rpm. Nissan says 500Nm (369 lb-ft) is already on tap from 1500rpm.

The 2.5-litre dCi also went to engineering for some extra beef. Power has been upped to 140kW (190 PS / 188 hp) and torque is now 450Nm (332 lb-ft). It delivers an average of 8.5l/100km while C02 emissions are rated at 224 g/km. Nissan unveils the facelift Navara and Pathfinder at Geneva 2010 and European sales start in April. Sales of models fitted with the V6 diesel only start around June.

auris240210

We’ve already seen details and a pair of official photos of Toyota’s refreshed 2010 Auris for the European market, but now we have a comprehensive image gallery of both the three- and five-door hatchback versions of the car shot during a media event in Europe. For 2010, the Auris has been pepped up with a new front end that includes a restyled grille, swept-back headlamps, new bumper and revised bonnet profile, while at the back, the tail lamp clusters are revised and there’s a new rear bumper with extended corner sections.

Inside, the new Auris has been upgraded with a new centre console and revised Optitron dials with white illumination, while Toyota also added soft-touch materials on the top of the instrument panel and around the glovebox. Under the skin, Toyota’s engineers fine tuned the Auris’ suspension and speed-sensitive Electric Power Steering (EPS). The standard Auris retains its current range of petrol and diesel engines and six-speed manual and MultiMode transmissions. The facelifted Auris will have its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March alongside the production version of the Auris HSD Hybrid.
